Greg Smith Hollywood Sound Effects Library
The American University in Washington DC is providing free access to professor Greg Smith's collection of 1450 sound effects, recorded over the course of a career doing sound recording and post-production on Hollywood films. This is a really great resource for background ambiance in all sorts of settings (jungle, rural, urban), transportation, and weapon sounds.
