OmniFile Full Text is a full-text database providing full text articles in all subject areas. Coverage begins in 1994. See below for instructions for using OmniFile at the CCA Libraries to find articles and images online and on the library shelves.
Access
- From any page on the CCA Library Website, select the Library Collections dropdown from the menu-bar and then select Articles.
- Select the All Subjects link to go to OmniFile Full Text
- If you are off-campus please enter your CCA username and password at the prompt for access.
- For best results make sure that cookies are enabled on your browser, and that popups are allowed from 'hwwilsonweb.com'.
Basic Searching
- To get started using OmniFile Full Text you can simply type a keyword into the default textbox, and hit the "Start" button.
- To retrieve more precise results use the pull-down menu to the right of the text-box and select specific categories to be searched.
- Experiment with the variety of pull-down menus and checkboxes on the search screen to limit your search to suit your specific needs.
Advanced Searching
- Combine search terms using the AND (for fewer results) and OR (for more results) dropdown menus.
- Use the * symbol to expand your search (e.g., metro* for metropole, metropolis, metropolitan).
Search Tips:
- Select "Artist" from the dropdown menu to the right of the search-box for precise results.
- Use the "Document Type" menu beneath the search-boxes to limit your results to articles with reproductions of particular works (choose "Art Reproduction), exhibit reviews (choose "Exhibit"), or feature articles (choose "Feature Article").
Viewing Search Results
- You can retrieve the full-text for almost all of the articles in OmniFile Full Text.
- Click on the Full Text icon
to view an article's text, or the PDF icon 
to view actual pages from the periodical (including images).
- If full-text or pdf links are not available, click on the Find Journal at CCA icon
to check if a copy is available at CCA libraries.
- If the journal is available in the CCA Print Holdings write down the exact journal title, volume/number or month/year, and page number(s) to locate it on the shelves.
- If the journal is available through another database, click-through to the database to search for the article you need
- To save your results select the "Print Email Save" button and fill-out the delivery options according to your need:
