Formerly Grove Art, OAO contains the full-text of The Dictionary of Art, an encyclopedia of world art from prehistory to the present in over 45,000 articles as well as The Oxford Companion to Western Art [OCWA], and over 5000 color images.
» Encyclopedia Britannica
Encyclopedia Britannica Online brings together the contents of the encyclopedia with resources such as World Data Analyst, Gateway to the Classics, Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary of Quotations, and selected journal articles from the ProQuest and EBSCO databases.
» Oxford English Dictionary
Online version of the 20-volume historical dictionary, including detailed etymologies.
Reference Books
You can find reference books on the library shelves using the library catalog. If you're researching a topic in philosophy, for example, you could search for the keywords "philosophy" and "dictionary" to find an array of philosophical dictionaries in the library stacks.
