Beginning Wednesday, September 2, the Libraries will offer contactless pickup of library materials. Patrons will have the opportunity to pick up holds during the following designated pickup hours:
Meyer Library (Oakland): Wednesday, 11am-1pm
Simpson Library (San Francisco): Thursday, 11am-1pm (Pick up at front Public Safety desk in main building)
Holds may take up to a week to become available as staff availability and inter-office mail are limited. Once available, items will be held for 21 days. If your account is expired or you need help placing holds, email us.
Due to the limited nature of available items, we may not be able to honor all hold requests. Library staff will contact you with alternate options should the physical book not be available for check-out. Requests may also be filled by e-books or electronic scans.
Items may be returned to the book drop at either library. Please follow campus access protocol when visiting the library.
Place a hold on the item you wish to check out: Look for the Place a Hold button on the right side of the item’s record:
After logging in to your library account, select your Pickup Library and click Confirm Hold:
Wait until you receive an email notifying you that the hold is Available for Pickup. This may take up to a week.
Come to the pickup library during the designated pickup hours, listed above and in your email notice. In Oakland, call the library at (510) 594-3658 when you arrive at the library door. In San Francisco, call the library at (415) 703-9574 and wait for your books at the front Public Safety desk in the main building.
What to bring when you come to campus
Please bring your CCA ID and cell phone to campus when you come to pick up your holds. Bring a bag or box if you are picking up several items as this will not be provided by the library. When you arrive, call the posted phone number and library staff will assist you.
Please also follow all CCA safety guidelines when visiting campus.
